Best Photo Spots While Traveling
Secrets from our photographer: how to find the best locations, choose the right lighting, and create unforgettable shots.
Photography is a way to preserve travel memories forever. But how to take shots that will look professional? Our photographer shares secrets of creating perfect travel photos.
The first and most important factor is lighting. Golden hour — the first hour after sunrise and the last before sunset — gives the softest and warmest light. Avoid bright midday sun that creates harsh shadows. To find the best locations use Google Maps, Instagram and local blogs. But don't limit yourself to popular places — often the best shots are waiting for you on ordinary streets.
Composition is the key to a good shot. The rule of thirds always works: place the main object at the intersection of lines. Add depth through foreground, experiment with shooting angles. And most importantly — take many shots! Don't be shy to return to one location several times at different times of day. Every moment is unique.
